Lysosomes are cell organelles are bounded by single membrane which prevents its components from their release.  Uncontrolled release of acidic fluid and enzyme may cause damage to the components of the cell. Active transport is used in the transportation of the molecules through the membrane of the lysosomes.

The  membrane  that  surround  lysosome  is   responsible  for  maintaining  an  acidic  environment  within  the  interior a proton pump. The  active  transport  is  being  used  since  it facilitate  transportation  of  protons  into  the  lumen of  lysosome  from  the  cytosol  of  the cell. The  protons  are  transported  against  their  concetnration  gradient.
