The length of a rectangle is two less than four times the width. If the perimeter is 26 cm, find the dimensions of the rectangle
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

w = 3

l = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

l = 4w-2

P = 26cm

P = (l + w) × 2

26 = (4w-2+w) ×2

26 = (4w + w - 2) × 2

26 = ( 5w - 2 ) × 2

26 ÷ 2 = 5w -2

13 = 5w - 2

13 + 2 = 5w

15 = 5w

w = 3

l = 4w - 2

l = (4 × 3) -2

l = 12 - 2

l = 10
