write it into a formula

60=2x+x

60=3x

20=x

 then double check 20 *2 = 40 +20 = 60

so the number is 20

The formula for any geometric sequence is a n = a 1 · r n - 1 , where a n represents the value of the nth term, a 1 represents t
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:instead, try making the subscripts and superscripts stand out:

                         n-1

a    =  a         * r

 n         n-1

Believe me, it's worth the extra work to do this!!

Given the sequence   -3, -6, -12, -24, you can easily see that the first term,

a         is    -3.  The common factor is 2.  Note how (-3)*2=-6, and so on.

  1

So, a       = -3 and r=2.

        1

So the formula for this geometric sequence is

                  n-1

a     =  -3*2

  n

Two cylinders are similar. The surface area of one is 49 cm ^ 2 , and the surface area of the other is 121 cm ^ 2 . Find the sca
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

7 : 17.29

Step-by-step explanation:

==>Given:

Two similar cylinders:

Surface area of Cylinder A = 49cm²

Surface area of Cylinder B = 121cm²

==>Required:

Scale factor between both cylinders

==>Solution:

We can easily get the scale factor between both by taking the following steps:

=>Set up a ratio of their surface area:

Smaller cone surface area : larger cone surface area

49:121

= 49/121

=>Simplify the ratio gotten:

Dividing the denominator and the numerator by 7, would give us,

7/17.29

= 7:17.29

The equation x^2-9y^2=900 <span>defines a hyperbolic cylinder.
</span>
1. Divide the equation x^2-9y^2=900  by 900:
\dfrac{x^2}{900} - \dfrac{y^2}{100} =1.
This is the equation of conic section when z=0 (or z=const) and that is hyperbola equation.

2. To find the domain and the range you should express y:
\dfrac{y^2}{100} =\dfrac{x^2}{900} - 1 \\   \\ y^2= \dfrac{x^2}{9} -100 \\   \\ y=\pm  \sqrt{\dfrac{x^2}{9} -100}.
Since you have square root,
\dfrac{x^2}{9} -100\ge 0 \\ x^2-900\ge 0 \\ (x-30)(x+30)\ge 0 \\ x\in(-\infty,-30)\cup (30,\infty). This is the domain, the range is y\in (-\infty,\infty).
