Answer:

Barett Sold 88 Tickets

Step-by-step explanation:

To Start off we are told that the Total of tickets sold between Amelia (A) and Barrett (B) was 137.

Total = 137

Since Barett Sold 10 less than twice as many tickets as Amelia, we can make the following equation, where Barett is B and Amelia is A.

A + B = 137

A + (2A-10) =137   (Barett equalls 10 less than twice Amelia)

Now we can solve the equation for A

A + (2A-10) =137

3A - 10 = 137  (Combine Like Terms)

3A = 147 (add 10 on both sides)

A = 49 (divide by 3 on both sides)

Now that we have the amount of tickets that Amelia sold we can plug it in for B to find out how many tickets Barett Sold

(2A-10) = B

(2*49) - 10 = B

(2A-10) = B

98 - 10 = B

88 = B

Suppose a certain capsule is manufactured so that the dosage of the active ingredient follows the distribution Y ~ N(μ = 10 mg,
lianna [129]

Answer:

(a) Probability that Y falls into the dangerous region is 0.0013.

(b) Probability that the mean Y-bar falls into the dangerous region is 0.00001.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that a certain capsule is manufactured so that the dosage of the active ingredient follows the distribution Y ~ N(μ = 10 mg, σ = 1 mg).

A dosage of 13 mg is considered dangerous.

Let Y = <u><em>dosage of the active ingredient </em></u>

The z-score probability distribution for normal distribution is given by;

                                 Z  =  \frac{ Y-\mu}{\sigma} } }  ~ N(0,1)

where, \mu = population mean = 10 mg

            \sigma = standard deviation = 1 mg

(a) Probability that Y falls into the dangerous region is given by = P(Y \geq 13 mg)

       P(Y \geq 13 mg) = P( \frac{ Y-\mu}{\sigma} } } \geq \frac{ 13-10}{1} } } ) = P(Z \geq 3) = 1 - P(Z < 3)

                                                          = 1 - 0.9987 = <u>0.0013</u>

The above probability is calculated by looking at the value of x = 3 in the z table which has an area of 0.9987.

(b) We are given that a dosage of 13 mg is considered dangerous. And we sample 49 capsules at random.

Let \bar Y = sample mean dosage

The z-score probability distribution for sample mean is given by;

                                 Z  =  \frac{\bar Y-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } } }  ~ N(0,1)

where, \mu = population mean = 10 mg

            \sigma = standard deviation = 1 mg

            n = sample of capsules = 49

So, Probability that the mean Y-bar falls into the dangerous region is given by = P(\bar Y \geq 13 mg)

          P(Y \geq 13 mg) = P( \frac{\bar Y-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } } } \geq \frac{13-10}{\frac{1}{\sqrt{49} } } } } ) = P(Z \geq 21) = 1 - P(Z < 21)

                                                             = <u>0.00001</u>

Dénote l the vertical leap, then the given equation can be written like this:
l(t)=4t^2\\\text{Since one inch equate 0.0833333 feet then 44 inches equate }\\44\times 0.0833333=3.6feet\\\text{Add to 33 feet like this:}\\33+3.6=36.6feet\\\text{Now we have to solve the equation:}\\4t^2=36.6\\\text{Divide over 4 we get:}\\t^2= \frac{36.6}{4}=9.15\\\text{Take the square root we get:}\\t=\sqrt{9.15}=3

The hang time equates then 3 seconds
