After completing the Athens and Sparta Lessons on iLearn,
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

If given the option, I would rather live in the city-state of Athens.

Explanation:

Both, Athens and Sparta were city-states in Ancient Greece. Both had an Assembly whose members were elected by the local people. However, that is were the similarities ended.

In Sparta, the assembly was answerable to the King, who could be ruthless. It was known as a simple, agriculture based society with very strong and powerful warriors.

Athens, which was only a couple of hundred miles away, did not have a king. Instead, the assembly was answerable to archons, who themselves, were also elected by the population.

In such a way Athens was more a more democratic society where people had more freedoms. Hence, the city-state was known was a liberal bastion, with education, arts, and creativity being their hall-marks.

Therefore, If I was given a choice, I would rather live in Athens.

Why was the peace process at the war's end so lengthy? what complications did wilson encounter in his attempts to promote the pr
miskamm [114]
The peace process was complicated because France and Britain could not agree with the USA on the way to treat Germany. In addition, the wave of nationalism and communism by the bolsheviks complicated the issue further.
Wilson vision of a league of nation was also not successful at home as the congress refused to ratify American membership. the league of nation would have been very successful with the American participation. The great powers could also not agree on key issues such as disarmament.
