Glycerol is one of two molecules that make up a monomer known as?
lukranit [14]
The correct answer is triglycerides, this is the monomer that is made up of gylcerol and one other molecule. The other molecule within the monomer will depend on the use of the tryglycerde - for example, in adipose tissue, tryglycerides are composed of one molecule of glycerol and three moles of fatty acid.

Why do you think that root hairs are produced only on the parts of the root system that have stopped growing?
Triss [41]

Answer:

question no 1 answer

A root hair,or absorbent hair, the rhizoid of a vascular plant, is a tubular outgrowth of a trichoblast, a hair-forming cell on the epidermis of a plant root. As they are lateral extensions of a single cell and only rarely branched, they are visible to the naked eye and light microscope. They are found only in the region of maturation of the root. Just prior to and during root hair cell development, there is elevated phosphorylase activity. Plants absorb water from the soil by osmosis. Root hair cells are adapted for this by having a large surface area to speed up osmosis. Another adaptation that they have is a large permanent vacuole.

question no 2 answer

1. How many different phenotypes are possible in the offspring of two parents with genotypes AA and aa, where A is the dominant
Stolb23 [73]
For question number 1, there is one phenotype only with homozygous allele which are recessive and dominant of both parents. For question number 2, the answer is letter B. plants with both red and blue flowers because it is codominant so the trait will express both alleles. For question number 3, the answer is letter C. four genetically identical cells because it is from two daughter cells which undergo meiosis that results into 4 identical cells that are needed for somatic cells in our body. For question number 4, the answer is the leading strand is copied in the 5’ to 3’ direction and the lagging strand is copied in the 3’ to 5 because it is based in the ends of each nucleotides that is carrying the genes. For question number 5, the answer is gene regulation which is used by cells to increase of decrease specific gene products or RNA.

avanturin [10]

Answer:

The correct answer is option E. "nucleotides can only be added to an available 3'-OH group on the transcript terminus".

Explanation:

RNA synthesis is catalyzed by an enzyme called RNA polymerase. RNA polymerase always catalyze the synthesis of new RNA from 5' to 3' because nucleotides can only be added to an available 3'-OH group on the transcript terminus. This has been confirmed in labeling experiments with γ-32P substrates which establish the presence of a triphosphate moiety in transcripts with either pppG or pppA.
