You have isolated a new mutation in the T4 bacteriophage rII A gene and you map its location within the gene by recombination fr

equency. You find that this new mutation fails to give wild type recombinants with several different adjacent mutations located in the same gene. What type of mutation is this new one you just isolated

Answer:

A lethal mutation, thereby the resulting phenotype is not observed .

Explanation:

Lethal mutations are the result of genomic changes that may be lethal in certain conditions. In genetic research, this type of mutation has shown to be very useful in analyzing gene function (i.e., genes whose protein products are key for the survival of the organism in question), and they are perfect gene markers. In bacteriophages, for example, temperature-sensitive mutants of phage T4 that can not grow at temperatures higher 42°C have been identified (Edgar & Lielausis 1964).

Explain how and why the walls of the ventricles differ in thickness.
and between
baherus [9]

Answer:

The ventricles of the heart have thicker muscular walls than the atria. This is because blood is pumped out of the heart at greater pressure from these chambers compared to the atria. ... This is due to the higher forces needed to pump blood through the systemic circuit (around the body) compared to the pulmonary circuit.

What is Empathy?

This is defined as the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference.

Low empathy involves inability to cope with emotional situations and are usually impatient which is why when shown photos of happy faces, they are more likely to hold a straight face.

In Avery's experiment, he used DNase, RNase or proteinase to treat the heat killed S strain to see what component in the debris
nevsk [136]

Answer:

S strain

Explanation:

The Avery experiment demonstrated DNA is the genetic material. It expanded upon the findings made by Griffith.

They used Pneumococcus; Smooth strain which was virulent and the Rough which was not.

Cultures of heat killed smooth strain were prepared after which it was treated with DNases ,RNases and Proteinases to remove DNA, RNA, and proteins respectively. It will then be introduced to living Rough strain.

When treated with RNases only the RNA will be destroyed and transformation will take place leading to colonies of S stains being formed.

Only when treated with DNase did the colonies S strain fail to be formed.

you find that some cells have twice the amount of DNA in their nuclei as other cells do. What might you conclude?
Pie
They might be going through the S Phase of the cell cycle which is DNA replication. Usually, when the cells go through this phase they end up to dividing.
