Answer:

A. The Best Actresses are generally younger than the Best Actors.

Step-by-step explanation:

Now the most important thing here is to have an ability to understand and read the box plot.

Box plot is a graphical representation of data with minimum,first quartile, median, third quartile, maximum and outliers.

Now remember that first horizontal line near base is minimum, then first line of rectangle or box is Q1 or first quartile, then middle line of box is median and last line of box is third quartile or Q3, then final line is maximum and the dots shown are final line are outliers.

Now from the data given, we have to use the elimination method to cancel out all wrong answers.

For B, you can see the boxes are representing ages doesnt show much diversity, they are compact although they are for slightly different age brackets, so b is eliminated.

For C, from outliers one can see that the women is oldest one, around 80 years who got an award, so C is also eliminated.

For D, it is obvious that the woman is youngest to take an award, do D is also eliminated.

Hence we can say that A is the only right answer because we can read that the box plot for women correspond to younger age bracket.

A store sold 50 copies of a magazine for $150. Each copy of the magazine costs the same. Which equation and set of ordered pairs
Goryan [66]

Answer:

Option a. Y=3x

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us use cross multiplication method.

Let the cost of 1 magazine be x.

No. of copies                               Cost

1)50                                                $150

2)1                                                      x

50x=150 x 1               equation(1)

x=150/50

x=$3

Now see equation (1),

150=50x

150=50 x 3

Here let us represent the cost as y and no. of copies as x.

Y=3x

Therefore, a. Y=3x is the right answer.

Thank you!

An object in geometry with no width, length or height is a(n):
il63 [147K]

Answer:

Point

Step-by-step explanation:

Just see it like this

we have a cube, so we have x-, y- and z- axis.

Now if we divide this cube by its z- value we will have a 2 dimensional figure with x- and y- axis.

If we keep doing this we will have a 1 dimensional figure with only a x - axis (a line) and if we divide that 1 more time we will make the figure collapse in 1 point.

Consider the function f(x) = x^{2/3} on the interval [-1,8].
zhannawk [14.2K]
The right option is (c). The Mean Value Theorem does not apply since f(x) is not differentiable on (-1,8). Because the derivative of f is 2/3 x^(-1/3)  which is undefined at x=0.So, that would imply that it is not differentiable along the interval.
