Dr. Joka is the principal at Emery Middle School. She is looking at her eighth-grade students' results from her state's standard

ized test. She needs to locate the NAEP results for eighth grade, as well, in order to complete her analysis. Why?
The NAEP is a federally funded after-school program that has the goal of bringing all students up to proficiency levels in core subjects.

NAEP is a rival school system and she wants to make sure her students fared better.

The NAEP is an international test that her students will need to take in ninth grade.

NAEP results are used as a sort of national control group or standard that local schools and districts can use to compare against their students' scores.

What is the degree of comparison of the underlined modifier? This is the best omelet I have ever had.
lukranit [14]
Superlative means exaggerated.
Comparative means it is being compared to something else.
Positive is self-explanatory.

Honestly this is a hard one because usually when someone says something is "the best" they are exaggerating. Also when you say something is the best, youare saying that the other things you have tasted aren't as good which compares the omelet. Since your not saying the omelet is bad it is a good (positive) comparison. I think the closest answer is comparative for the reasons above.

Write a letter to your cousin describing to him/her how your favourite game is played
Lisa [10]

Answer:

Dear (Cousin's name),

I love playing this game called hot potato. To start you have an item, not too big, not too small. You find friends if you don't have any, and then you get in a loose spread out circle. You start throwing this item to each person next to you in a circle until someone drops it and screams in anger and rage at losing the game. Your goal is to touch the item for as little time as possible but not drop it. I hope the next time you come to visit we can play.

Yours truly,

Your favorite cousin

I hope this entertained you
