Among organisms, carbon compounds exist in four major categories: lipids, carbohydrates, proteins and nucleic acids. Carbohydrates are required as sources of energy. Proteins are the major molecules from which organisms are built. Lipids provide energy to produce hormones. Nucleic acids consist of deoxyribonucleic and ribonucleic acids, which play a key role in protein synthesis.

What type of bonds form between the nitrogenous bases? Why are these bonds important?
Bond [772]

Answer:

The bonds that are formed between nitrogenous bases are Hydrogen Bond.

Explanation:

When a hydrogen atom interract with an electronegative atom such oxygen, fluorine hydrogen bond forms,

A single hydrogen bond is weak noncovalent bond but collectively they exerts  very strong interraction.

Hydrogen bonding occurs between complementary base pair .For exam An adenine base forms 2 hydrogen bonds with thymine base whereas guanine forms 3 hydrogen bonds with cytosine base.

The hydrogen bonding between complementary is very much important to stabilize the structure of DNA .

if a reaction releases energy in one direction, what must happen to the energy going the other direction
zalisa [80]
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I would assume that the energy in the other direction would be an action.. though I'm not entirely sure. I hope it helps.
