JoeBucannon's answer is in fact false, you cant really do that formula to find the answer, check it through a conversion calulator and you will find that 1.000000e+9µg is your answer.

(I really also dont wanna waste your time so 1.000000e+9µg = 10^9)

1 kilogram
1 * 10^3 gram

1 microgram
1 * 10^-3 gram

1 kilogram / 1 microgram
10^3 / 10^-3
10^6

Barbara sells iced tea for $1.49 per bottle and water for $1.25 per bottle. She wrote an equation to find the number of drinks s
aleksley [76]

The equation should have been written as 1.25x+1.49y=100.

The error made in the first equation was that Barbara did not include a variable next to the term 1.49. Since the ice tea is sold for $1.49 per bottle, a variable should be included to represent however many bottles of iced tea she sold.

What do the following two equations represent?
· Y-3 = 2(2-3)
· y + 5 = 2(2 + 1)
solong [7]

Answer: A

Y-3 = 2(2-3) y=1

y−3=2(2−3)

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

y−3=2(2−3)

y+−3=−2

y−3=−2

Step 2: Add 3 to both sides.

y−3+3=−2+3

y=1

Step-by-step explanation: y + 5 = 2(2 + 1) y+5=2(2+1)

y=1

How many ounces of 10% alcohol would need to be mixed with pure rubbing alcohol to get 16
givi [52]

Suppose you add x oz of 10% alcohol to y oz of pure alcohol. Then the mixture has a total volume of x + y oz, and we want to end up with 16 oz so that

x + y = 16

For each oz of the solution 10% used, 0.1 oz of alcohol is contributed, and each oz of pure alcohol contributes 1 oz of alcohol. The mixture is supposed to have a concentration of 14%, which comes out to 0.14*16 = 2.24 oz of alcohol. Then

0.1 x + 1 y = 2.24

Solve for y in both equations:

y = 16 - x

y = 2.24 - 0.1 x

Set them equal to one another and solve for x, then for y.

16 - x = 2.24 - 0.1 x

13.76 = 0.9 x

x = 13.76/0.9 ≈ 15.29

y = 16 - 15.29 ≈ 0.71

So you need about 15.29 oz of 10% alcohol and 0.71 oz of pure alcohol to get the desired mixture.
