I believe that there is enough information to prove that they are similar. Since the triangle on the right is twice as big as the one on the left, you would divide the numbers by 2. The base of the right triangle is 8, and the left triangle is 4. When you divide 8 by 2, the answer is 4, which shows that they could be similar. Same thing goes for the height and length.
Hope this helps.

If you vertically shift the linear parent function, f(x)=x up four units , what is the equation of the new function
OverLord2011 [107]
Shifting in the y direction is as simple as adding the shift, ie.,

f(x) = x+4.

In the x direction it is trickier because then you have to replace x by (x-a) where a is the shift to the right... (but that wasn't asked here).

What shows the volume
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

654 1/2 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

First the volume of the cylinder, the formula for that is πr²h

Radius is half of diameter so 7/2=3.5

3.5^2=12.25

12.25x22/7=38.5

38.5x15=577.5

Now the cone, the formula for this is πr²h/3

It has the same radius as the cylinder so 3.5^2=12.25

12.25x22/7=38.5

38.5x6=231

231/3=77

Now we add them together to find total volume.

577.5+77=654.5
