40\ \frac{miles}{hour} \cdot \frac{1hour}{60minutes}  = \frac{40}{60}  = \frac{2}{3} \  \frac{ mile}{minute} \\ \\  Now \ that \ we \ have \ the \ speed \ in  \ \frac{ miles}{minute} , \ when \ we \  calculate \  the \ time,  \\ \\ it  \ will \ also \ be \ in \ minutes \\ \\
time = \frac{distance}{speed} \\ \\
time=\frac{60}{\frac{2}{3}}= 60 :\frac{2}{3}=  \not60 ^{30}  \cdot \frac{3}{\not2^1}= 90 \  minutes  \\ \\ Answer : \ Rene \ gets \ to \  the \  lake \ for \ 90 \ minutes

Total Time Taken = Distance Traveled / Speed
So, Time = 60 / 40 hours = 3 / 2 hours = 1.5 hours

So, the final answer is --> it will take 1.5 hours for her to reach the lake.

Lee sells electronics. He earns a 5% commission on each sale he makes.
NISA [10]

Answer:

a) c = (5/100)*d

b) c = 0.05*d

c) The ratio between what Lee recieves and what he sold.

d) d = 2000

Step-by-step explanation:

Since Lee earns 5% in commission for each sale then:

a) c = (5/100)*d

b) c = 0.05*d

c) In this context the constant of proportionality means the ratio of the value Lee sold that he'll earn as a comission.

d) Since he wants to earn $100, then c = 100 and we solve for d

c = 0.05*d

100 = 0.05*d

0.05*d = 100

d = 100/0.05 = $2000

He needs to sell $2000.

Explain how the number line can
DochEvi [55]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  points closest to zero will give the least change; those farthest away will give the greatest change. Listing the points in order by distance from 0 will put them in order by amount of change.

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of change is the absolute value of the number on the number line. That value is the (positive) distance from 0. The numbers will most easily be compared if they are all put on one side of zero. For example, -1.75 and 1.75 are the same distance from zero, as are -3.25 and 3.25.

Listing the points in order by distance from 0 will put them in order by amount of change. In order, least change to greatest change, the numbers are ...

  -1.75, 2.50, -3.25, -3.50, 4.75
