Calculate the volume of 817.5g of CH4 at STP.

Chemistry

Answer:

The volume is 1143,78 L

Explanation:

We use the formula PV=nRT. The conditions STP are 1 atm of pressure and 273K of temperature. We calculate the weight of 1 mol of CH4.

Weight 1 mol CH4= weight C+ (weight H)x4= 12 g + 1 g x4= 16 g/mol

16 g----1 mol CH4

817,5g--x=(817,5gx1 mol CH4)/16g= 51, 1 mol CH4

PV=nRT V=(nRT)/P

V= (51,1 mol x 0,082 l atm/K mol x 273 K)/1 atm

V= 1143,78 liters

Identify the atomic orbitals in the C-C sigma bond in ethyne (acetylene HC-triplebond-CH)
aleksley [76]

Answer:

Explanation:

A sigma bond is formed  when a hybrid orbital sp overlaps with another hybrid orbital or with s- or  p- orbital

Ethylene has a structural formula of  H - C≡ C- H

At the ground state; we have :

C    | ⇅ |     |↑ | ↑

        2s       2p

At the excited state, we have:

C    | ↑ |     |↑ | ↑ | ↑

the hybrid orbital

C = | ↑ | ↑ |

Calculate the number of moles CuCl2 necessary to make 50 mL of a 0.15M solution
tekilochka [14]
 Volume  ⇒ 50 mL in liters : 50 / 1000 = 0.05 L

Molarity of solution ⇒ 0.15 M

Number of moles:

n =  M * V

n = 0.15 * 0.05

n = 0.0075 moles of CuCl2

hope this helps!.
