Answer:

Organisms that require a temperature at 5°C will thrive -0.6 km below the surface.

Explanation:

Let's evaluate the options:

-In the ocean, as salinity increases, temperature increases: False because based on the data we can see that as salinity increases, the temperature tends to decrease.

-Organisms that require a steady salinity move freely between sea level and -0.4 km: False because you can see that salinity has a big variation in the range between sea level and -0.4 km.

-Ocean salinity decreases at depths greater than -1.8 km below the surface: False because in the graphs you can see that salinity is at the highest point showed of 34.6 at depths greater than -1.8 km.

-Organisms that require a temperature at 5°C will thrive -0.6 km below the surface: True because at -0.6 km below the surface, the temperature is 5° C which would allow these organisms to thrive.

According to this, the answer is that the prediction that is most likely based on the data is that organisms that require a temperature at 5°C will thrive -0.6 km below the surface.

5.60 g of an unknown gas at STP fills a 500 mL flask. What is the molar mass of the gas
ale4655 [162]

Hey there!

From ideal gas equation we know,  PV = nRT

All the terms have their usual significance.

PV =w/M * RT

( where , n is number of moles = w/M,   we = weight of gas, M = molecular weight of the gas)

Therefore,  PV = wRT/M

At standard conditions ,  value of pressure, P = 1atm and standard temperature, T = 273K

And value of universal gas constant, R = 0.082 lit. atm. K⁻¹.mol⁻¹

Given that, weight of gas,

w = 5.60g and volume of gas,

V = 500mL = 0.5 Liters

Therefore, substituting all the value, we get   :

  Molar mass = 5.60 * 0.082 * 273 / 1 * 0.5

   Molar mass = 250.7232 g/mole
