Arithmetic sequence  5, 3, 1, -1 then value of a^18 is 3814697265625.

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, arithmetic sequence is 5, 3, 1, -1

We have to find the value of a^{18}

We know that, first term of any A.P is represented by the letter “a”

So, here in our problem first term a = 5

Then we have to find the value of  5^{18}

5^{18}=5^{4+4+4+4+2}=5^{4} \times 5^{4} \times 5^{4} \times 5^{4} \times 5^{2}

\text { since } a^{m+n}=a^{m} \times a^{n}

\begin{array}{l}{=625 \times 625 \times 625 \times 625 \times 25} \\\\ {=390625 \times 390625 \times 25} \\\\ {=152587890625 \times 25} \\\\ {=3814697265625}\end{array}

Hence, the value of a^18 is 3814697265625.

The ratio of students in Class X to Class Y is 2 : 5. There are 24 more students in Class Y than Class X. How many students must
Natalka [10]

Answer: 12 students

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X and Y stand for the number of students in each respective class.

We know:

X/Y = 2/5, and

Y = X+24

We want to find the number of students, x, that when transferred from Y to X, will make the classes equal in size. We can express this as:

(Y-x)/(X+x) = 1

---

We can rearrange X/Y = 2/5 to:

X = 2Y/5

The use this value of X in the second equation:

Y = X+24

Y =2Y/5+24

5Y = 2Y + 120

3Y = 120

Y = 40

Since Y = X+24

40 = X + 24

X = 16

--

Now we want x, the number of students transferring from Class Y to Class X, to be a value such that X = Y:

(Y-x)=(X+x)

(40-x)=(16+x)

24 = 2x

x = 12

12 students must transfer to the more difficult, very early morning, class.

Write your answer as a fraction or as a whole or mixed number.<br> 27pts
statuscvo [17]

<u>What we know</u>:

  • Bird feeder capacity:             -->  2 4/5 cups
  • Samantha's scoop capacity: -->  7/10 cups

<em>Lets first convert the mixed partial fraction --> improper fraction</em>

<em>        --> for easier calculation</em>

<em />

<u>After Conversion:</u>

  • Bird feeder capacity:             -->  14/5 cups
  • Samantha's scoop capacity: -->  7/10 cups

<u>To find how many scoops of birdseed will Samantha put into the feeder we must:</u>

  --> divide the total capacity by the scoop's capacity

       --> find the number of scoops:

<u>Solve:</u>

  Total-number- of -scoops = \frac{\frac{14}{5} }{\frac{7}{10} } =\frac{14}{5} *\frac{10}{7} =\frac{14*10}{5*7} =\frac{14}{7} *\frac{10}{5} =2*2=4

Thus the total number of scoops that Samantha will put into the bird feeder is <u>4</u>

<u></u>

<u>Answer: 4</u>

<u></u>

Hope that helps!

Solve for x<br> -2x + 4 = 6x - 12
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

x=2

Step-by-step explanation:

-2x+4=6x-12  Add 2x to both sides.

<u>+2x    +2x</u>

4=8x-12         Add 12 to both sides.

<u>+12  +12</u>

16=8x            Divide by 8 on both sides.

<u>/8 /8</u>

2=x

Hope this helps you out and have a great day (~^▽^)~
