A dot plot is a type of frequency graph just like a histogram. Whereas a histogram uses 2 axes and bars to fill the frequency graph, the dot plot is only a number line with dots. A number line presents a parameter. For this problem, this is the number of books. When you ask a group of people on how many books they've read this summer, they would give a variety of numbers. These numbers are data point as listed above. If you want to see the frequency, you place a dot on top of the number every time a person answers that number. For example, 3 people said they've read 2 books this summer. So, on top of number two, you place 3 dots. Overall, you will be able to see which has the highest frequency by stacking the dots on top of each other.

The dot plot for this data set is shown in the picture.

Which of the following values "completes the square," or creates a perfect square trinomial, for x2 + 6x + ___?
jekas [21]
To create a perfect square trinomial, halve the x coefficient, square it, and then add that value.

In the case of x² + 6x, we would have 6 to get 3, then square 3 to get 9.
We would add 9 to make a perfect square trinomial.

Why this works
A perfect square trinomial is designed to factor to some value (x+n)².
When you FOIL this you get x² + 2nx + n².
As you can see, if you wanted to find the value of that n², you could take that x coefficient 2n, halve it to get n, and then square it to get n²!

Sophia wants to solve for the side length of b. Which equation could Sophia use to solve for the side length of b, given the
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

b² = a² + c² - 2ac cos B

Step-by-step explanation:

The cosine rule can be use when you are given three sides of a triangle and ask to find any angle or when you are given two sides and a included angles(the angle between the two sides given) and ask to find the length of a side.

The equation Sophia can use to solve for the side length(b) of a triangle when given two length and the included angle can be expressed below. Sophia was given two sides and an included angle and was asked to find a side length b.

For sides a, b and c the cosine rule can be represented below

a² = b² + c² - 2bc cos A

b² = a² + c² - 2ac cos B

c² = a² + b² - 2ab cos C

The equation required base on your question is

b² = a² + c² - 2ac cos B

Determine if the ordered pair (6, 4) is a solution to the inequality
Ugo [173]

Answer:

\Large \boxed{\mathrm{Option \ D}}

Step-by-step explanation:

(6, 4)

x = 6 and y = 4

y > -1/2x + 7

Plug in the values to check if it is true.

4 > -1/2(6) + 7

4 > -3 + 7

4 > 4

This statement is false.

(6, 4) lies on the line.
