Answer:  the first part is the area of the base:  πr²

You take the radius given, (or half of the diameter given) square that and multiply by the value of Pi, commonly 3.14 or 3.1416

The second part is the area of the lateral surface. πrh That is the radius times π times the height of the cone.

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula as shown is confusing to me. It is better to show exponents with superscript if possible, or use the caret ^ [shift + 6] on a keyboard before the 2.

The second part is the area of the lateral surface. πrh That is the radius times π times the height of the cone. (using h instead of l seems less confusing as lower case L looks like 1 in some fonts) But people do use<em> πrl  </em>I realize.

Add the two surface areas together to get the total surface area of the cone.

On the day of his 18th birthday harry decided to start saving money regularly
Veseljchak [2.6K]

We have been given that on the day of his 18th birthday Harry decided to start saving money regularly . Starting on that day, he could save 30.00 on the same date every month. We are asked to find the amount saved by the day before Harry's 60th birthday.

First of all, we will find years from 18 years to 60 years.

\text{Years}=60-18=42

We know that 1 year equals 12 months.

\text{42 years}=12\times 42\text{ Months}=504\text{ Months}

To find total amount saved, we will multiply 504 months by amount saved per month.

\text{Total amount saved}=\$30\times 504

\text{Total amount saved}=\$15,120

Therefore, Harry would have saved \$15,120 by the day before his 60th birthday.

Find a polynomial with a degree of 3, and the zeros 1,7, &amp; -4 with no other zeros.
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

f(x)=(x+4)(x-7)(x-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

zeroes are when you plug in that x value and get y=0

therefore if you set x = that number and solve for 0 you get a "function"

multiplying these together will yield the complete 3rd degree polynomial

x = 1

x-1=0

x=7

x-7=0

x=-4

x+4=0

f(x)=(x+4)(x-7)(x-1)

If needed you could expand but I'm too lazy
