Secondary succession occur in an area that has existed before or has biological activities or lives before but was disturbed by either fire or flood which remove all or small scale of the community that did not eliminate life and nutrients from the environment. Secondary succession begins in a area that posses soil compared to primary succession which begin on barren surfaces. An abandoned base ball field that start grow grass is an example of secondary succession because it has existed before and was disturbed.
