Solve the proportions 7/b+5=10/5

Answer:

The solution is b = -1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

* To solve any proportion, we used the cross multiplication

Ex: If a/ b = c/d

- We will multiply the numerator of L.H.S with the denominator

of the R.H.S and equate it with the product of the denominator

of the L.H.S with the numerator of the R.H.S

∴ ad = bc

* Lets do that with our problem

∵ \frac{7}{(b + 5)}=\frac{10}{5}

∴ 7 × 5 = 10 × (b + 5) ⇒ multiply

∴ 35 = 10(b) + (10)(5) ⇒ simplify

∴ 35 =  10b + 50 ⇒ subtract 50 from both sides

∴ -15 = 10b ⇒ divide both side by 10

∴ b = -1.5

* The solution is b = -1.5

(41 – 4) + 18 x 3 = 1
Rudik [331]

Answer:

91

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that, the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon is 360 i.e., (x+3) + (2x+1) +(3x-1) = 360 i.e., x+2x+3x+3+1-4 = 360 i.e., 6x = 360 Therefore, x = 60 Now, x+3 = 60+3 =63 2x+1 = 2*60 +1 =120 + 1 = 121 3x-4 = 3*60 - 4 = 180 - 4 = 176 The exterior angles are 63, 121 and 176

Round the following numbers to the nearest ten. A: 12 B: 15 C: 154 D: 6
bija089 [108]

When rounded off to the nearest tens, the numbers are 10, 20, 150 and 10

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Step 1: If the numbers have their units digit as 5 or greater, then round it off to the next ten or else round it off to the previous ten.

⇒ 12 ≈ 10

⇒ 15 ≈ 20

⇒ 154 ≈ 150

⇒ 6 ≈ 10

Given: BCDF is a parallelogram; AB = BF<br> Prove: angleA=angleE
Katen [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

ABCD is a parallelogram.  AB is produced to P, such that AB = BP and PQ is drawn parallel to BC to meet AC produced at Q. Given AB = 8 cm, AD = 5 cm, AC = 10 cm.

→ BC ║ QP →→Given

In Δ ABC and ΔAPQ

∠ABC=∠APQ→→[BC ║ QP , BP is a transversal, so corresponding angles are equal]

∠BAC=∠PAQ→→Reflex angle

Δ ABC ~ ΔAPQ→→(AA similarity criterion]

When triangles are similar, their corresponding angles are equal.

AC=CQ=10 cm, shows that point C is mid point of AQ.
