There are 6 white socks, 4 black socks, and 2 yellow socks in a drawer. Carl wants to wear his yellow socks to school. What is t

First add up the total number of chances.
Which is 12. This is the denominator.

Next find out how many there are of the kind he wants.
He has a chance of getting the two yellow socks out of the 12 total.

So, now you have two out of twelve chances. To put this in fraction form put the total number of chances on top and the number of the thing they want on top.

2/12

Now simplify.
The biggest number that goes into both of them is two. Divide both by two. This will give you 1/6. I hope this helped

The lifetime of a leaf blower is exponentially distributed with a mean of 5 years. If you buy a 12 year old leaf blower, what is
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

1.967 × 10⁻¹¹

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a conditional probability problem

Probability that a 12 year old leaf blower works for 5 more years = Probabilty that a leaf blower works for 17 years, given that it has worked for 12 years = P(17|12)

P(17|12) = P(17 n 12)/P(12)

P(17 n 12) = P(17)

Exponential random variable is given as

f(x) = λ e^(-λ.x)

λ = rate parameter = 5 years per blower

x = variable whose probability is required = 17

f(17) = 17 e^(-5×17)

f(17) = 17 e⁻⁸⁵ = 2.067 × 10⁻³⁶

f(12) = 12 e^(-5×12)

f(12) = 12 e⁻⁶⁰ = 1.051 × 10⁻²⁵

P(17|12) = (2.067 × 10⁻³⁶)/(1.051 × 10⁻²⁵)

P(17|12) = 1.967 × 10⁻¹¹

Which answer describes the type of sequence? 200, 40, 8, 1.6, ...
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

Option 1  the given sequence is a geometric.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given with the series

200,40,8,1.6

Arithmetic sequence is the sequence in which difference between consecutive terms is same that is common difference d

d=a_2-a_1

d=40-200=-160   herea_2=40,a_1=200

d=8-40=-32          herea_2=8,a_1=40

We can see the difference is not same

Hence, the given sequence is not arithmetic sequence.

Geometric sequence is the sequence in which ratio of consecutive terms is same that is common ratio r

r=\frac{a_2}{a_1}

r=\frac{40}{200}=\frac{1}{5}   herea_2=40,a_1=200

r=\frac{8}{40}=\frac{1}{5}          herea_2=8,a_1=40

r=\frac{1.6}{8}=\frac{1}{5}             herea_2=1.6,a_1=8

We can see the ratio is  same.

Hence, given sequence is geometric

Therefore, Option 1 is correct given sequence is geometric.

This is the easiest question
Arturiano [62]

Answer:  3\dfrac{2}{6}\ h

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Rami practices his saxophone for \frac{5}{6} hour on 4 day each week

So, for a week she practices around

\Rightarrow \dfrac{5}{6}\times 4\\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{20}{6}

Converting it into mixed fraction

\Rightarrow \dfrac{20}{6}=\dfrac{18+2}{6}\\\\\Rightarrow 3\dfrac{2}{6}\ h
