Answer:

700 animals.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that a zoo has 218 animals in the outdoor exhibits and 454 animals in the indoor exhibits.

Let us round both numbers to the nearest hundred.

Upon looking to tens value in our number we can see that it is less than 5, so we will round our number down.

We can also see that 218 in closer to 200 than 300. Rounding 218 to nearest hundred we will get 200, therefore, there are 200 animals in the outdoor exhibits.

Now let us round 454 to nearest hundred.

Upon looking to tens value in our number we can see that it is 5, so we will round our number up.

We can also see that 454 is closer to 500 than 400. Upon rounding 454 to nearest hundred we will get 500, therefore, there are 500 animals in the indoor exhibit.

To find the total number of animals at zoo we will add 200 and 500.

\text{t\Total number of animals at zoo}=200+500=700

Therefore, there are 700 animals at the zoo.

The shaded parts of the models below each represent a fraction. What is the sum of the fractions? PLSSS HELPPP
Dimas [21]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

That is the answer because the first grid is in hundredths, so if you turn it into fractions you need to count the shaded parts. so it is 42/100 for the first one. Now because the second one is not in hundreths but in tenths, you make it into hundredths by multiplying 10 this will make the 3/10 into 30/100. Now that is fixed you just need to add 42/100 and 30/100 together which is 72/100. That is your final answer. D
