I worry that you kids are not reading the questions before posting them. This is very simple. The correct choices are the answers with two probabilities that have NOTHING to do with each other; A, C, D.

Answer:

Option A, C and D is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the options we ave to select the probabilities which are most likely independent.

Option A: The chance a student will make the drama team and the chance the student is good at tennis.

The above probability is independent as both events are different with no link therefore independent.

Option B: The chance a student gets eight hours of sleep and the chance he will be alert during class.

The above is dependent as the students who get eight hours sleep will be alert in class.

Option C: The chance a car is blue and the chance the car will last over twenty years

The above is independent as a car is blue and the chance the car will last over twenty years.

Option D: The chance a woman drinks coffee and the chance a woman has a pet.

The above is independent as women drinks coffee than may or may not has pet it may be or may not be.

Option A, C and D is correct.

Troyanec [42]
Let x = total distance he covered
3x/4         by bus
1/2 . x/4  =  x/8  by jogging
the remaining distance  =  x/8               by walking
thus      x/8 = 800ft
           x =    8 . 800 = 6400ft
