Las ideas más importantes sobre la participación igualitaria en las designaciones y elecciones de las autoridades en la historia del país son aquellas que son el resultado del consenso para darle la oportunidad a todos los niveles sociales de un país, la oportunidad de participar en unas elecciones limpias para elegir a sus gobernantes.

Sin esta posibilidad de participación igualitaria -que no discrimine personas por su raza, etnia, color de piel o posición social- no podrá existir un ideal democrático y participativo que garantice una elección en la que todos los miembros de la sociedad participen para elegir libremente el destino de su país.

Si no hay participación activa de la gente, no habrá quien presione y exija a los gobernantes los resultados que prometieron durante su campaña.
