Osmosis

Osmosis is the name of the process in which water moves into or out of the cell membrane to maintain homeostasis.

Osmosis is the net movement of solvent substances such as water from a region of higher solvent potential to a region of lower solvent potential, through a semi-permeable membrane.  During this process, the movement of solvent stops when the concentration of the two solutions becomes equal (balanced). This type of diffusion is an important process in biological systems because biological membranes are semipermeable.

8. Explain how cells move large particles into the cell by endocytosis.
Deffense [45]
It is possible for large molecules to enter a cell by a process called endocytosis, where a small piece of the cell membrane wraps around the particle and is brought into the cell. If the particle is solid, endocytosis is also called phagocytosis.

How are cloning and identical twin different?
kaheart [24]
"Identical twins come from a single fertilized egg, or zygote, that splits in two. Both halves contain the same DNA and eventually form two fetuses. But clones are formed in a different way. The first step in making a clone is to empty the DNA out of a fertilized egg".
