<h2>Answer:</h2>

The scenarios that represents a combination is:

<em>The number of possible pizzas that can be made with 12 possible toppings.</em>

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

<u>Combination--</u>

Combination refers to the selection or ways of choosing 'n' items.

                             whereas

<u>Permutation--</u>

Permutation refers to the selection as well as arrangement of n items.

1)

The number of ways 30 people can finish in the first 3 positions.

In this situation we need to use permutation.

Since firstly we have to choose  three people out of 30 who attained the top three positions and then we have to arrange them according to there ranks.\

2)

The number of possible pizzas that can be made with 12 possible toppings.

This situation will involve combination.

Because the toppings may be any random way we have to just choose the different number of toppings we require for pizza.

3)

The number of ways 15 people can line up in a row.

In this scenario we need to use permutation.

Because we have to arrange 15 people in a line.

4)

The number of ways letter can be pulled from the tiles in a scrabble board.

In this situation we'll use permutation.

Since we are asked to choose the letters from the board also the order in which the letters are chosen will vary.

igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

1).  2x^2-3x+20

2). 4x^2-14x+6

Step-by-step explanation:

1. (x-4)(2x+5)

FOIL:

(x)(2x)+5(x)-8(x)+(4)(5)

2x^2+5x-8x+20

=2x^2-3x+20

2. (4x-2)(x-3)

FOIL:

(4x)(x)-(3)(4x)-2(x)-2(-3)

4x^2-12x-2x+6

=4x^2-14x+6

Christian’s Gym charges a one-time fee of $50 plus $30 per session for a personal trainer.
nydimaria [60]

Answer: For 10 sessions, the cost of the two plans the same.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x= Number of sessions.

Given: Christian’s Gym charges a one-time fee of $50 plus $30 per session for a personal trainer.

Total charge for x sessions = 50+30x

Nicole's fitness center charges a yearly fee of $250 plus $10 for each session with a  trainer.

Total charge for x sessions = 250+10x

When both plan charges the same, then

50+30x=250+10x\\\\\Rightarrow\ 30x-10x=250-50\\\\\Rightarrow\ 20x=200\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=10

i.e. For 10 sessions, the cost of the two plans the same.
