Answer:

16.364 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed of Claire = 6 miles per hour

Speed of Megan= 5 miles per hour

Distance from camp site to out post = 18 miles

Time for Claire to travel=18/6= 3 hours

Time for Megan to travel = 18/5 = 3.6 hours

The time they meet will be equal

Claire distance= 18 + x

Megan distance = 18-x

Claire time =( 18+x)/6

Megan Tim =( 18-x)/5

(18+x)/6 =(18-x)/5

5(18+x)= 6(18-x)

90 +5x = 108-6x

11x=18

X=18/11

X=1.636 Miles

So the distance from the Outpost to where they meet = 18-1.636

= 16.364 miles

3x-8<23 and -4x+26>6
Papessa [141]

Answer:

3x-8<23 and -4x+26>6

x<31/3            x<5

Step-by-step explanation:

3x-8<23

Add 8 to both sides

3x<31

Then divide 3 to both sides

x<31/3

and -4x+26>6

Minus 26 to both sides

-4x>-20

You divide -4 to both sides

Keep in mind that everytime you divide a negative the inequality will change so > will be <

x<5

Which is an example of continuous data?
Lynna [10]

Answer:

A) amount of snowfall in a blizzard

Step-by-step explanation:

Both continuous and discrete data are quantitative.

The difference is that

  • Continuous data can take any value. You obtain it by measurement.
  • Discrete data can take only certain values. You obtain it by counting.

The amount of snowfall in a blizzard is continuous data. It can take any value such as 100.3 cm or 250.5 cm .

B) is wrong. The number of students who pass a math quiz is discrete data. You can't have half a student.

C is wrong. The number of languages an individual speaks is discrete data. You can't speak half a language.

D) is wrong. The number or treadmills in a gym is discrete data. You can't have half a treadmill.
