Answer:

16.364 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed of Claire = 6 miles per hour

Speed of Megan= 5 miles per hour

Distance from camp site to out post = 18 miles

Time for Claire to travel=18/6= 3 hours

Time for Megan to travel = 18/5 = 3.6 hours

The time they meet will be equal

Claire distance= 18 + x

Megan distance = 18-x

Claire time =( 18+x)/6

Megan Tim =( 18-x)/5

(18+x)/6 =(18-x)/5

5(18+x)= 6(18-x)

90 +5x = 108-6x

11x=18

X=18/11

X=1.636 Miles

So the distance from the Outpost to where they meet = 18-1.636

= 16.364 miles

Choose the equation that represents a line that passes through points (-1, 2) and (3, 1).

Answer:

<h2>B. x + 4y = 7</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

\text{The point-slope form of an equation of a line:}\\\\y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\m-slope\\\\\text{The formula of a slope:}\\\\m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\\\\==============================

\text{We have the points (-1, 2) and (3, 1). Substitute:}\\\\m=\dfrac{1-2}{3-(-1)}=\dfrac{-1}{4}=-\dfrac{1}{4}\\\\\text{Put the value of a slope and the coordinates of the point (3, 1) }\\\text{to the equation of a line:}\\\\y-1=-\dfrac{1}{4}(x-3)\\\\\text{Convert to the standard form}\ Ax+By=C:\\\\y-1=-\dfrac{1}{4}(x-3)\qquad\text{multiply both sides by 4}\\\\4y-4=-(x-3)\\\\4y-4=-x-(-3)\qquad\text{add x to both sides}\\\\x+4y-4=3\qquad\text{add 4 to both sides}\\\\x+4y=7

find the area of a triangular shaped land having the length of three sides 20,34 M and 42 respectively in metre square Anna and
matrenka [14]

Step-by-step explanation:

if I understand you correctly, then the 3 sides are

a = 20 m

b = 34 m

c = 42 m

under this assumption the best is to use Heron's Formula to get the area :

s = (a + b + c)/2

area = sqrt(s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c))

in our case

s = (20 + 34 + 42)/2 = 96/2 = 48

area = sqrt(48(48-20)(48-34)(48-42)) =

= sqrt(48×28×14×6) = sqrt(112,896) =

= 336 m²

Part A: A graph passes through the points (0, 4), (1, 8), and (2, 10). Does this graph represent a linear function or a non-line
Andru [333]
Part A: It is a non-linear function because it doesn't continue at a constant rate. The last y value increased by 2 instead of 4 like the previous coordinates. There's no consistency if that makes sense.

Part B: linear- (1,2) (2,4), (3,6) Notice how the x increases by the same amount (1) and the y increases by the same amount (2)
non-linear- (2,4) (5,10) (7,11) The x and y values are increasing by completely different amounts in this one.
