The length of a living room rug is 12 1/2 feet, and the width is 10 3/4 feet. There is a couch that covers 12 1/2 square feet of

the rug and an entertainment center that covers 6 square feet. What is the area of the rug that can be seen? Please help me

Area = l*w
Area of living room rug = 12(1/2)*10(3/4) = 134.375

Total area - covered areas = areas seen 
Total area - couch area - entertainment area = areas seen
134.375 - 12(1/2) - 6 = 115.875
The areas of the rug seen is thus 115.875 square feet. (sq. ft)
