2a.
Since BC = 10m and M is the midpoint, we can find CM by : 10÷2 = 5m
So, CM = 5m

2b. Now, you have the base ( 5m) & hypotenuse (13m). Pythagoras' Theorem:

c {}^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}
Where c is the hypotenuse, a & b are sides.

{13}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  + b {}^{2}  \\  {5}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  = 13 {}^{2}  \\  {b}^{2}  = 13 {}^{2}  -  {5}^{2}  \\ b =  \sqrt{144}  \\ b = 12
b here refers to the height.

2c.
Area of a right-angled triangle =
\frac{base \times height}{2}
So,
\frac{10 \times 12}{2} \\  = 60 {m}^{2}

A)
|CM|=\dfrac{|BC|}{2}\to|CM|=\dfrac{10m}{2}=5m

b)
h^2+5^2=13^2\\h^2+25=169\ \ \ |-25\\h^2=144\to h=\sqrt{144}\\h=12m

c)
A_\Delta=\dfrac{|BC|h}{2}\to A\Delta=\dfrac{10\cdot12}{2}=60\ m^2

Part A: Marguerite rented a truck at $125 for 2 days. If she rents the same truck for 5 days, she has to pay a total rent of $27
Evgen [1.6K]
PART A:
To obtain an equation in the standard form to represent the total rent (y) that Marguerite has to pay for renting the truck for x days, we use the fomula for the equation of a straight line.

Recall that the equation of a straight line passing through points (x_1,\ y_1) and points (x_2,\ y_2) is given by
\frac{y-y_1}{x-x_1} = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Given that <span>Marguerite rented a truck at $125 for 2 days. If she rents the same truck for 5 days, she has to pay a total rent of $275.
This means that the lne modelling this situation crosses points (2, 125) and (5, 275).
</span>
The equation modelling <span>the total rent (y) that Marguerite has to pay for renting the truck for x days is given by,
\frac{y-125}{x-2} = \frac{275-125}{5-2} = \frac{150}{3} =50 \\  \\ y-125=50(x-2)=50x-100 \\  \\ y=50x+25

Writing the equation in standard form, we have
50x - y = -25

PART B:
Writing the function using function notation means making 'y' the subject of the formula and then replacing the 'y' with 'f(x)'.

Recall that from part A, we have that the equation for </span><span>the total rent (y) that Marguerite has to pay for renting the truck for x days is given by y = 50x + 25.

Writing the equation using the function notation, we have
f(x) = 50x + 25

PART C:
To graph the function, we label the x-axis 'number of days' and label the y-axis 'total rent'. the x-axis is numbered using the intervals of 1 while the y-axis is labelled using the intervals of 50.
The points </span><span>(2, 125) and (5, 275) are marked on the coordinate axis and a straight line is drawn to pass through the two points.</span>

Graph the linear function p(x)=4x .
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

Please find attached the required graph

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation of the linear function is p(x) = 4·x

Comparing the above equation with the general equation for a straight line, y = m·x + c, we have;

The slope, m = 4, and the y-intercept c = 0

Therefore, the graph can be constructed by drawing a straight line passing through the origin which is inclined to the horizontal axis such that the ratio of the vertical distance of a point on the line from the x-axis to the distance of the point from the y-axis is 4 to 1

However, in order to  graph the given function, such that the values of the x and y coordinates of the points on the line representing the equation of the graph are clearly defined, we generate a table of values  using Microsoft Excel as follows;

x            {}                p(x)

0            {}                0

1            {}                 4

2            {}                8

3            {}                12

4            {}                16

5            {}                20

6            {}                24

7            {}                28

8            {}                32

9            {}                36

10            {}                40

11            {}                44

12            {}                48

13            {}                52

14            {}                56

15            {}                60

16            {}                64

From which the required graph is constructed using the insert function in Microsoft Excel
