the rise of the roof is 8 the span is 30 the pitch of the roof is the ratio of the rise to the half span. if rise is 8ft and the span is 30ft what is the pitch in simplest form please show how was done i dont understand thank you

The pitch is the ratio of the rise (X) to half the span (Y)

So the pitch = X/(1/2Y)

Which equals 8 / [(1/2) x 30]

Which equals 8/15
