How do i graph a fraction

For example, if your fraction was 1 1/2, you would graph it on the x axis halfway between 1 and 2

You could estimate the point on a regular x.y axis, or you could make an x, y axis marked off in 1/8's. 1/8,2/8,3/8 etc, 
then change -5/4 to -10/8. Plot (-10/8, 5/8) which would be left 10 spaces and up 5 spaces, remembering that each space is 1/8.
