1/3 of 12. This is because if you divide 12 by three, then you get a greater number than when you divide 12 by four.

Well to find a fourth of 12 you need to divide 12 by 4
12÷4=3

and to find a third of 12 you need to divide 12 by 3
12÷3=4

so now you need to figure out which is greater 4 or 3?

(that should be easy but if not the answer is 4 so 1/3 of 12 is greater than 1/4 of 12)

Consider the equation (x−4)(x+3)=0.
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

(1)       x  (x+ 3) - 4 (x +3) = 0

(2)        x = 4                 and       x = -3

Step-by-step explanation:

given data

equation

(x−4)(x+3)=0

solution

given equation  (x−4)(x+3) = 0

equation as a compound statement is

x  (x+ 3) - 4 (x +3) = 0

and

two solutions to the equation are

so x  (x+ 3) - 4 (x +3) = 0

x- 4 = 0           and        x + 3   = 0

x = 4                 and       x = -3
