So.. hmm let's say. Julia had originally "j" amount of peas,
and Vlada had "v" amount, so

\bf \textit{Julia(j) had more peas than Vlada(v), by a ratio of 3:2, or }\frac{3}{2}
\\ \quad \\
\cfrac{j}{v}=\cfrac{3}{2}
\\ \quad \\
\textit{now, Julia gave Vlada 15, so v+15, and Julia, is no longer}\\
\textit{3:2 ratio with Vlada, but only has 10 peas more than Vlada}\\
or\\
v+15=j+10
\\ \quad \\ \quad \\

\begin{cases}
\cfrac{j}{v}=\cfrac{3}{2}\implies \boxed{\cfrac{2j}{3}}=v
\\ \quad \\
v+15=j+10\\
----------\\
\boxed{\cfrac{2j}{3}}+15=j+10
\end{cases}

solve for "j", to see how many Julia originally had

Answer:

120 peas did Julia have to start with

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the statement: The ratio of Julia’s peas to Vlada’s peas was 3:2

Let the number be x;

Then;

Julia have number of peas to start with= 3x and Vlada's have number of peas start with = 2x

Also, it given that  Julia gave 15 peas to Vlada, she still had 10 more peas than Vlada.

⇒ 3x - 15 = 2x + 10 + 15

3x -15 = 2x + 25

Add 15 both sides we get;

3x = 2x + 40

Subtract 2x from both sides we get;

x = 40

Number of peas Julia have = 3x = 3(40) = 120

and

Number of peas Vlada have = 2x = 2(40) = 80

Therefore, Julia have to start with 120 peas

six friends are going to buy a pizza. Their chices are to biu 2 medium 10-inch diameter pizzas for 7:00 each, or 1 large 14 inch
11111nata11111 [884]
For this question, we want to find out the greatest amount of area of pizza for the least amount of money:

So we have two pizzas with a 10 in. diameter. Let us take one of those pizzas.

The formula for area of a circle is \pi r ^2; So the area for one of these 10 in. pizzas would be \pi (5)^2 or 25\pi.

We have two of these pizzas, so the total area that we would get with $14 would be 25\pi*2 or 50\pi.

For the second case, we have one pizza with a 14 in. diameter.

The area of this pizza will be \pi (7)^2 or 49\pi.

So for $15 we can buy 49\pi worth of pizza.

The best deal would be to buy the two medium pizzas of 10 inch diameter, because for $14, you get 50\pi.

Given \tan A = \frac{7}{{24}}, find the cos B
Natali5045456 [20]

We are given

tan(A)=\frac{7}{24}

we know that

tan(A)=\frac{opposite}{adjacent}

so, we get

opposite =7

adjacent=24

now, we can find hypotenuse

hypotenuse=\sqrt{7^2+24^2}

hypotenuse=25

now, we can draw triangle and then switch vertices accordingly

we can find cos(B) using second triangle

cos(B)=\frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}

In second triangle:

adjacent=7

hypotenuse =25

so, we get

cos(B)=\frac{7}{25}................Answer

Suppose a DVD costs $19 and a CD cost $14. Right in the inequality to find how many CDs you can buy along with one DVD if you ha
andrezito [222]

Answer: 19 + 14x ≤ 65

Explanation:

$19 is only added once because there is only one DVD purchased. $14 is added an unknown number of times, thus the variable X is included. We know that that the total number of dollars spent for both items is either less than or equal to 65. (Depending on your teacher, they may want you to write "19 + 14x < 65" if they want you to write the answer only for discrete numbers).
