marta [7]

Activating the relaxation response through techniques such as meditation or stress-control breathing can improve how you respond to stress.

The relaxation response occurs when the body is no longer in an assumed danger, and the nervous system functioning returns to normal, like breathing, heart beat, etc.

It is a physical state of relaxation of body and mind, in which your body releases chemicals that reduces your increased breathing and heart rate. This brings healthy blood back to important organs, especially the brain. The Relaxation Response works when you practice it regularly. Some relaxation techniques are meditation, music, reading, cooking, eating, massage, yoga, music or art therapy.
