First of all, find f ⁻¹ (x), or the inverse function like so:
y = log(3x + 12)
e^y = 3x + 12
3x = e^y - 12
x = 1/3 (e^y - 12)
Now, swap x and y:
f ⁻¹ (x) = y = 1/3 (e^x - 12)

Secondly and finally, substitute 3 into this eq'n:
f ⁻¹ (3) = 1/3 (e³ -12) = 2.695.....
so 2.695 (to 4 sig.figs/ 3 d.ps)
or if asked for an exact answer then it is just: 1/3 (e³ -12), which can be simplfied to 1/3e³ - 4.

Answer:

23

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : f(x) = log_3(x + 4)

To Find: f^{-1}(3)

Solution:

y = log_3(x + 4)

Replace y with x and x with y

x = log_3(y + 4)

3^x = y + 4

3^x-4 = y

So, f^{-1}(x)=3^x-4

Now substitute x= 3

f^{-1}(3)=3^(3)-4

f^{-1}(3)=27-4

f^{-1}(3)=23

Hence the value of f^{-1}(3) is 23

Answer:

X=8

Step-by-step explanation:

17x-4=12+15x

add 4 on both sides to get

17x=16+15x

now subtract 15x on both sides to get

2x=16

divide by 2 on both sides

you get

x=8

a figure is translated by (x-5,y+7), then by (x+5,y-7). Without graphing, what is the final position of the figure?
Oduvanchick [21]

Without graphing, the final position of the figure that is translated by (x - 5, y + 7), and then by (x + 5, y - 7) ends up in the same position it was, before the translations.

Let’s check this example:

Think of point (1, 1). The point is translated to (-4, 8); and then it is moved back to point (1, 1). The x spot’s -5 and +5 cancel each other out and the same can be said for the y’s.

To add, a geometric transformation that changes every point of a space by the same amount in a given direction or a figure is called a translation.

Find the derivative of ((t^4-6)^3)*((t^3+6)^4)
rjkz [21]
=d/dx((t^4-6)^3) * (t^3+6)^4 + d/dx((t^3+6)^4) * (t^4-6)^3
=3*(t^4-6)^2 * (t^3+6)^4 * d/dx(t^4-6) + 4*(t^3+6)^3 * (t^4-6)^3 * d/dx(t^3+6)
=3*(t^4-6)^2 * (t^3+6)^4 * 4t^3 + 4*(t^3+6)^3 * (t^4-6)^3 * 3t^2
