expeople1 [14]

Answer: $15,060

Explanation:

From the question, we are informed that Ben and Jerry were shareholders of Water Ice Inc., an S corp. On Jan. 1, 1998, Ben owned 40 shares and Jerry owned 60 shares.

We are further told that Ben sold his shares to Joe for $10,000 on March 31, 1998 and that the corp. reported a $50,000 loss at the end of 1998. The loss that will be allocated to Joe will be:

= $50,000 × 40% × 9/12

= $50,000 × 0.4 × 0.75

= $15,000

The closest figure we have close to that is $15,060 which is option B

Profit Inc., a manufacturing firm, has purchased raw materials worth $10,000 on credit from its vendors. The business plans to settle the vendor’s full payment after two months. Under "current liabilities"section of balance sheet this account will be recorded as "account payable".

Answer: Option (B) is correct

Explanation:

Raw material purchased on credit from a vendor is a liability and it is shown under current liabilities in "accounts payable". Since raw material purchased on credit and payment is to be made after two months.

Payment due gives rise to liability. Now current liability is a company's short term obligations that are to be paid back within a year. Here the firm will have to make payment within two months to the vendor.

Windathon, Inc. expects sales volume totaling $500,000 for June. Data for the month follows:
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

Here the variable cost can be computed using the following formula:

Variable cost = (Sales commissions + Shipping expense + Miscellaneous selling expenses) ×Sales

Variable cost = (4% + 1% + 3/4%) x $500,000 = $28,750

Fixed cost = Sales manager's salary + Advertising expense + Miscellaneous selling expenses

= $30,000 + $25,000 + $2,100

= $57,100

Total selling expense budget = Variable cost + Fixed cost

= $28,750 + $57,100

= $85,850
