Lance Rice has decided to invest $1,200 quarterly for eight years in an ordinary annuity at 4%. The total cash value of the annu
tester [92]
First step is to compute for the interest that is gained from the described investment.
                             I = P x i  x n
where P is the principal amount, i is the interest rate, and n is the number of years.
                             I  = ($1200) x 0.04 x 8 = $384
Then, we add the interest gained to the original amount.
                        F = P + I = ($1200) + ($384) = $1584
Thus, the amount after 8 years is $1584.

The operators of adult bookstores got together and each agreed to contribute $1,000 to a fund for use in lobbying the city counc
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

The operators have not violated the antitrust laws because they are only collaborating to lobby the government

Explanation:

The antitrust law in the U.S. can be described as a group of federal and state government laws enacted to regulate the activities of business firms in order to enhance competition to the advantage of consumers.

The antitrust law aims to collusive activities that suppress trade, any merger and acquisition that would reduce competition, and prevent the the abuse of monopoly power.

Since the activity of the operators of adult bookstores does not fall under what the antitrust law aims to prevent but it is just a collaboration to lobby the government, they have a good defense that they have not violated the antitrust laws.

Which of the following acts allows employees to file a wage discrimination complaint within 180 days of their last paycheck? A.
Feliz [49]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter "C": Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay.

Explanation:

The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 was signed by President Barack Obama (born in 1961) to replace the Supreme Court rule stating that wage discrimination at work based on age, religion, nationality, race, gender or disability should be reported within 180 days from where the discriminatory activity started. With the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, employees suffering from these attacks have up to 180 days after their last paycheck to file the report.

Given the following cost and activity observations for Bounty Company's utilities, use the high-low method to calculate Bounty'
Leona [35]

Answer:

The option d is correct.

Explanation:

The high low method shows the difference between the high and low cost of a particular thing. In the given question, the high cost is $3,600 and the low cost is $2,700 whereas the high machine hour is 18000 and low machine hour is 10,000.

Now, the formula for high low method is calculated. It is shown below:

High low method = (High cost - Low cost) ÷ (High machine hours - Low machine hours)

= ($3,600 - $2,700) ÷ (18000 - 10,000)

= 900 ÷ 8000

= 0.11

Thus, the option d is correct.
