Lyrx [107]

Answer:

The present value of the contract is 0.5% higher if the rent is paid at the beginning of the month. That is equal to $11.28 for every $100 of rent.

Explanation:

if the rent is paid at the beginning of the month, the present value of the lease contract will be:

PV = monthly rent x PV annuity due factor

we are not given the monthly rent, but we know the PV annuity due factor for 0.5% and 24 periods = 22.67568

if the rent is paid at the end of the month, the PV = monthly rent x PV ordinary annuity factor

the PV ordinary annuity factor, 0.5%, 24 periods = 22.56287

assuming that the rent is $100 (just to calculate a %), the PV of an annuity due = $2,267.57

the PV of an ordinary annuity = $2,256.29

the difference between them = [($2,267.57 / $2,256.29) - 1] x 100 = 0.5%

Answer- If we invest $2000 in a front end load with 8% interest rate then we will earn $1840 as $160( $2000 x 8%) will get deducted from the purchase amount and eventually reducing the investment size.

Answer- we should review and rebalance your mutual funds annually as if we do it too frequently it kight involve some costs and thus would turn out to be less profitable.

Answer- It shifts assets from moderate to more risky as the retirement age approaches because it will help in increasing the income of the investor when he retires as at retirement he or she might start withdrawing his or her money.

SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

  • Economic order quantity= 1406 units
  • Safety Stock= 630 units
  • Reorder Point= 14130 units

Explanation:

Given Demand D= 78,000units/year

Ordering cost S = $38.00/order

Holding cost H = $3.00unit/year

Average lead time = 9 weeks

Standard deviation of weekly demand = 120 units

a) Economic order quantity:

EOQ = \sqrt{(2*D*S)/H}

EOQ = \sqrt{(2*78000*38)/3}

1405.7 = <u>1406 Units</u>

b)<u> Safety Stock:</u>

Weekly demand = 78000/52 =1500 units

Standard deviation of weekly demand = 120 units

Lead time is 9 weeks

Using the normsinv() in excel the Z value for the desired 96% service level is 1.75

Safety stock = z\sigma _{d}\sqrt{L}

= 1.75*120*\sqrt{9}

= 630 units

Reorder point = average lead time demand + safety stock

= lead time * weekly demand + saftey stock

  = 9*1500 + 630

  = 13500 + 630

Reorder point = 14130

Yolanda's Coffee Shop makes a blend that is a mixture of two types of coffee. Type A coffee costs Yolanda $4.25 per pound, and t
vovangra [49]

Answer:

she used type A coffee is 62 pounds

Explanation:

given data

Type A coffee costs = $4.25 per pound

type B coffee costs = $5.60 per pound

this month Yolanda made = 155 pounds

this month total cost = $784.30

to find out

How many pounds of type A coffee did she use

solution

we consider here that this month type A coffee used = x

and type B coffee used = y

so equation will be

x + y = 155       ..................1

and cost equation

4.25 x + 5.60 y = 784.30       ...............2

now from equation 1 we get y

y = 155 - x     .........................3

put this value in equation 2

4.25 x + 5.60 y = 784.3

4.25 x + 5.60 ( 155 - x) = 784.3

solve this equation we get

x = 62

so she used type A coffee is 62 pounds
