Alright!

To simplify <em>4 + 6(7x + 7), </em>we must combine like terms. Right off the bat, we can see what we have to do thanks to the order of operations.

<em>* original equation
</em><em>4 + 6(7x + 7)
</em>
<em>* alright, so - since we can't do anything in the parenthesis, we now have to see what we can do multiplication wise.
</em><em>4 + 42x + 42
</em>
<em>* alright, so we could multiply the two 7's by 6, but now what? well, we can't do anything else to the 42x because of the variable, so we have to now add 4 and 46!
</em><em>
</em><em>and our simplified equation is... 42x + 46! =)</em>

Find a degree 3 polynomial having zeros -5, 1 and 5 and the coefficient of x^3 equal 1
mote1985 [20]

Answer:

x^3 -x^2 -25x +25

Step-by-step explanation:

\text{The roots are,}~ \alpha  = -5,~ \beta = 1 ~ \text{and}~ \gamma = 5\\\\\text{The polynomial is,}\\\\~~~x^3 - (\alpha + \beta + \gamma)x^2+(\alpha \beta + \beta \gamma+ \gamma \alpha)x - \alpha\beta \gamma\\\\=x^3 - (-5+1+5)x^2 +(-5 \cdot 1 + 1 \cdot 5 + 5 \cdot -5)x - (-5)(1)(5)\\\\=x^3 -(0+1)x^2 + (-5+5-25)x +25\\\\=x^3 -x^2 -25x +25

Natalija [7]

Answer:

Musah's final point from the centre = 60.355 steps

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given information:

Musah stands at the centre of a rectangular field. He first takes 50 steps north, then 25 steps west and finally 50 steps on a bearing of 315°

The sketch for this information can be seen in the attached file below.

How far west is Musah's final point from the centre?

In order to determine how far west  is Musah's,

Let d be the distance of how far;

Then d = QR + RS cos θ

In the North West direction,

cos θ = cos 45°

d = 25 + 50( cos 45°)

d = 25 + 50( \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}} )

d = 25 + 50( 0.7071)

d =25 + 35.355

d = 60.355 steps

Musah's final point from the centre = 60.355 steps
