Answer:

Part a)

M = 2.31 \times 10^{30} kg

Part b)

M = 1.15 M_s

Explanation:

Part a)

As we know that the period of revolution of the planet is given by

T = 2\pi\sqrt{\frac{r^3}{GM}}

now we know that

r = 10.5 \times 10^6 km = 1.05 \times 10^{10} m

T = 6.3 days

T = 5.44 \times 10^5 s

now we have

5.44 \times 10^5 = 2\pi\sqrt{\frac{(1.05\times 10^{10})^3}{(6.67 \times 10^{-11})M}}

M = 2.31 \times 10^{30} kg

Part b)

As we know that mass of sun is given as

M_s = 2.0 \times 10^{30} kg

now we have

\frac{M}{M_s} = \frac{2.31 \times 10^{30}}{2 \times 10^{30}}

M = 1.15 M_s

A planet is discovered orbiting around a star in the galaxy Andromeda at the same distance from the star as Earth is from the Su
aniked [119]

Answer:

The planet´s orbital period will be one-half Earth´s orbital period.

Explanation:

The planet in orbit, is subject to the attractive force from the sun, which is given by the Newton´s Universal Law of Gravitation.

At the same time, this force, is the same centripetal force, that keeps the planet in orbit (assuming to be circular), so we can put the following equation:

Fg = Fc ⇒ G*mp*ms / r² = mp*ω²*r

As we know to find out the orbital period, as it is the time needed to give a complete revolution around the sun, we can say this:

ω = 2*π / T (rad/sec), so replacing this in the expression above, we get:

Fg = Fc ⇒   G*mp*ms / r² = mp*(2*π/T)²*r

Solving for T²:

T² = (2*π)²*r³ / G*ms (1)

For the planet orbiting the sun in Andromeda, we have:

Ta² = (2*π)*r³ / G*4*ms (2)

As the radius of the orbit (distance to the sun) is the same for both planets, we can simplify it in the expression, so, if we divide both sides in (1) and (2), simplifying common terms, we finally get:

(Te / Ta)² =  4  ⇒ Te / Ta = 2 ⇒ Ta = Te/2

So, The planet's orbital period will be one-half Earth's orbital period.

An open pipe is 1.42 m long
lora16 [44]

Answer:

the fundamental frequency produced by the open pipe is 120.78 Hz

Explanation:

Given;

length of the open pipe, L = 1.42 m

speed of sound in air, v = 343 m/s

The length of the open pipe for the fundamental frequency is equivalent to half of wavelength;

L = \frac{\lambda}{2} \\\\\lambda = 2L

The fundamental frequency produced by the open pipe is calculated as;

f_o = \frac{v}{\lambda} \\\\f_o = \frac{v}{2L} \\\\f_o = \frac{343}{2 \times 1.42} \\\\f_o = 120.78 \ Hz

Therefore, the fundamental frequency produced by the open pipe is 120.78 Hz

Answer:

Answer is C. Both technicians A and B.

Refer below.

Explanation:

Two technicians are discussing the testing of a catalytic converter. Technician A says that a vacuum gauge can be used and observed to see if the vacuum drops with the engine at 2500 RPM for 30 seconds. Technician B says that a pressure gauge can be used to check for backpressure. The following technician is correct:

Both technicians A and B
