You would have to find the area of each triangle and the square then add it together so use the area equation for a triangle which is
B=Base H=Height
A= B x H/2

 so with the numbers given in the question you would plug them in and get

A= 2 x 3/2

2 x 3= 6

6/2= 3

area of triangle is 3 in^2

so since there are 4 triangles and we just found the area of one you can multiply the area by 4 since all the triangles are the same and the area of all the triangles together is 12 so now all you have to do is add the area of the square

so to find the area of the square you use this equation

a = b x h

so plug your number s in and you get

a = 2 x 2
 so the area of the square is 4

now add them all up and the surface are of the pyramid is 16

Hey there! :)

You have to find the area of ALL of them and add it together.

Formulas:

Area of a triangle ⇒ (b · h) ÷ 2
Area of a square ⇒ l · w

Square -

l = 2
w = 2

2 × 2 = 4

Triangle -

b = 2
h = 3

(3 × 2) ÷ 2
    6   ÷   2   = 3

There are 4 triangles

3 × 4 = 12

12 + 4 = 16

The surface area = 16 in

Hope this helps :)

What two-dimensional figure will result from slicing this rectangular pyramid parallel to the base?
andreev551 [17]

Answer: The answer is D. Trapezoid.

Step-by-step explanation:  As shown in the attached figure, a rectangular pyramid  ABCDE is drawn. We are slicing this rectangular pyramid parallel to the base BCDE at the points F, G, H and I.

We can clearly see from the figure that upper half of the sliced figure will be similar to the pyramid BCDE and the lower sliced figure will be a trapezoid. These are the three-dimensional figures.

Also, the sliced two-dimensional figure FGHI will be a rectangle, because

the pyramid is a rectangular one and so,  FI=GH, FG=HI and all the angles are right angles.

Thus, the resulting two-dimensional figure will be a rectagle.

If you had your choice, would you rather have 5 million dollars, or 1 penny, doubled every day for a month?
nalin [4]

Probably the 5 million dollars.

You won’t make 5 million dollars in a month if you double a penny each day and I could do a lot of things with that money

Hope this helps you

Answer:

-14.4   -14(1/5)   -14.04

Step-by-step explanation:

Since all the numbers are negative the "bigger" the number is the less value it has. -14.4 is farthest away from zero. -14(1/5) = -14.2 which is in the middle. and -14.04 is the closest to zero.
