You would have to find the area of each triangle and the square then add it together so use the area equation for a triangle which is
B=Base H=Height
A= B x H/2

 so with the numbers given in the question you would plug them in and get

A= 2 x 3/2

2 x 3= 6

6/2= 3

area of triangle is 3 in^2

so since there are 4 triangles and we just found the area of one you can multiply the area by 4 since all the triangles are the same and the area of all the triangles together is 12 so now all you have to do is add the area of the square

so to find the area of the square you use this equation

a = b x h

so plug your number s in and you get

a = 2 x 2
 so the area of the square is 4

now add them all up and the surface are of the pyramid is 16

Hey there! :)

You have to find the area of ALL of them and add it together.

Formulas:

Area of a triangle ⇒ (b · h) ÷ 2
Area of a square ⇒ l · w

Square -

l = 2
w = 2

2 × 2 = 4

Triangle -

b = 2
h = 3

(3 × 2) ÷ 2
    6   ÷   2   = 3

There are 4 triangles

3 × 4 = 12

12 + 4 = 16

The surface area = 16 in
²

Hope this helps :)

Which describes how the parent function, f(x) = |x|, is transformed to show the function f(x) = 0.1|x – 3|?
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

The answer is the option B

It is wider and shifted 3 units to the right

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

f\left(x\right)=\left|x\right|

The vertex of the function is the point (0,0)

f\left(x\right)=0.1\left|x-3\right|

The vertex of the function is the point (3,0)

The function f\left(x\right)=0.1\left|x-3\right| is wider than the function f\left(x\right)=\left|x\right|

Because it is multiplied by a number less than 1

The rule of the translation is

(0,0)-------> (3,0)

(x,y)-------> (x+3,y)

That means

The translation is 3 units to the right

What is the equation of the line that passes through the points (-1,3) and (1,11)?
marta [7]

Answer:

y=4x+7

Step-by-step explanation:

You can find the slope of the line by using the formula of change and y over change in x. ∆y/∆x OR (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

11-3=8

1--1=2

8/2=4

Let's plug in a y value 3.

3=4*-1+b

b=7

Once you found b rewrite your equation in slope intercept form.

y=4x+7

You can check this equation by plugging in the unused coordinate (1,11) and find it balances.
