A=b(h) / 2
so 16 times 14 divided by 2 equals 112
 so your answer is 112 square inches

After talking with you here are two different options I think you are trying to ask:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are talking about: (\frac{-12}{3}) ^{3}
Answer: -62
Explanation:
PEMDAS tells us we need to do the exponent first:
-12³ = (-12)³ = -1728
<em>The parentheses are important so you cube the negative sign as well!</em>
3³ = 27
-1728 / 27 = -62
                           (\frac{-12}{3}) ^{3} simplified is -62
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you are talking about (-1\frac{2}{3})³

Answer: -\frac{125}{27}

Explanation:

First, let us turn -1 and two thirds into a mixed number:

Ignoring the negative for now, we can 1 times 3 is 3. 3 plus 2 is 5. 5/3 is 5/3. Adding in the negative we get -\frac{5}{3}

To cube it we must do:

(-\frac{5}{3})(-\frac{5}{3})(-\frac{5}{3})

3 times 3 (9) times 3 is 27

5 times 5 (25) times 5 is 125

So we have 125/27

For the negative, we have three - - -

Two cancel each other out, and we are left with one (-) so our answer is negative

                           (-1\frac{2}{3})³ simplifed is -\frac{125}{27}

Simplify the expression.<br><br> (−2g5h2)5
vampirchik [111]
I am sure you are trying to type

( - 2 {g}^{5} {h}^{2} {)}^{5}
If that is it, then you should recall the law of exponents which says,

({a}^{m} {)}^{n} = {a}^{mn}
Let us share the exponent for each of them.

( - 2 {g}^{5} {h}^{2} {)}^{5} = ( { - 2)}^{5} ( { {g}^{5}) }^{5} ( { {h}^{2}) }^{5}
We now apply the law,

( - 2 {g}^{5} {h}^{2} {)}^{5} = ( { - 2)}^{5} ( { {g}^{5 \: \times 5}) }^{} ( { {h}^{2 \times 5}) }^{}
We now simplify to obtain,

( - 2 {g}^{5} {h}^{2} {)}^{5} = -32 {g}^{25} {h}^{10}

If that is not the expression let me know so I will know how to help you

The graph below shows the height of a tunnel f(x), in feet, depending on the distance from one side of the tunnel x, in feet:
denis23 [38]
Part A) x-intercepts simply show that when the value of the function is zero. Vertex coordinates show that when the function obtains its maximum value. When x=50, function obtains its maximum value and it's 75. The function is increasing in the interval (0, 50) and decreasing in the interval (50, 100). In regard to the height and distance of the tunnel, these numbers show that decreasing and increasing intervals are symmetric. Each number from the intervals has its own pair in the corresponding interval and they are located in the same distance from the midpoint (50,75)

Part B) In order to calculate the average rate of change, we can first write the function. Using the information about the x-intercept and the vertex coordinates, we find that our function is f(x)=-0.03x^{2}+3x.
Plugging 15 and 35 in x, we can find the values of the function, i.e.
f(15)=38.25 and f(35)=68.25.
Then, the average change is \frac{68.25-38.25}{35-15}=1.5
