The legistrative branch in America primary power is to make the country's laws. This branch is further divided into two other Chambers which are The House of Representatives and The Senate. The members who are to act in this two Chambers are elected by the people.
In order to pass an act for bill approval by the president both houses must pass the same version of bill by majority vote, after which the president then decides if to sign or reject the bill according to the veto power given by the constitution.
Democracy is a principle of government which gives everyone within the nation a right to participate in the government that govern them through the right to franchise that is to vote and be voted for in a free and fair election which usually comes up every four years in some countries.This right to vote and be voted for comes through the universal adult suffrage. It is a system of government in which the government derive their sovereignty from the people.
In a democratic nation like the United States, the constitution vested more powers in the congress.The congress is a bicameral legislature which comprises of the upper legislative house known as the senate and the lower legislative house known as the house of repreresentatives .The constitution gave them the powers to make law for the good governance of the nation..also among the powers that was vested on them by the constitution is the power to ratify the appointment of members of the presidential cabinet nominated by the president. They also have the power to remove the president through an impeachment process by bringing an allegation of misconduct against the president.
In addition, they also have the powers to approve the annual budget of the state by passing the appropriation bill ,they have the powers to increase the budget and to cut down the budget.The executive cannot spend any money in the treasury without the approval of the congress. The congress also have the powers to ratify foreign treaty and agreement the country made with the other countries of the world
At best, I would recommend a code of ethics for the press to
follow regarding celebrities. The
problem is enforcing these codes as many of these journalists would like to
catch celebrities when they least expect it.
Also there are publications that pay for these kinds of photos and
articles as sensationalism sells. It
needs to be discourage but how is the problem.
