The arched nucleus is the center of food control and appetite inhibition, if it is stimulated by a tumor, then the person will not be able to eat (loss of appetite).

The axons of the neurons, located in the ventrolateral region of the arcuate nucleus, form what is called the tubero-infundibular pathway that delivers dopamine into the hypothalamic-pituitary portal system.

Pituitary glandular cells that have dopamine receptors will then reduce their release of prolactin, a hormone that has several effects:

*sensation of well-being after orgasm in both males and females (Luca will have this effect).

*growth of the mammary glands and milk production in women.

For which of the following reasons do small, isolated islands have a greater rate of
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

Larger islands that are large and close to the mainland are shos lower rate of extinction due to the fact that the species present have more space so there will be more resources available in comparison to smaller islands where limited space and limited resources available.

Extinction is greater on islands isolated due to the unlikelihood of immigration and as it is opposite to the island close to the mainland and competition is more in isolated islands.

What percent of the sunlight is actually converted into chemical energy via photosynthesis?
kirill115 [55]

Photosynthesis is a process in which green plants and few organisms use sunlight to synthesize their food from carbon di- oxide and water. In plants, during photosynthesis, green pigment known as chlorophyll is involved and oxygen is generated at a by product.

All the sunlight falling on plant is not absorbed. Only half of the falling light which lies in the right frequency to power photosynthesis is absorbed. Out of this falling light, only 8 % to 11% is absorbed by the plant and only 3 % to 6 % is actually used to form chemical energy.
