It's called a tectonic shift.
These plates are always shifting, and they can either grind in opposite directions, pull away from one another, or collide to create a fault-line.

wind energy gaining support as a possible energy source for people. what is the source of the energy that generated wind?
Ivahew [28]

Answer: The energy source that generates wind is actually the sun.

Explanation: The uneven heating of the Earth's surface by the sun gives rise to differences in atmospheric pressure. Areas such as deserts will warm the air masses above much more. As air is heated, it has a lower density as it expands and thus will form a point of low atmospheric pressure. The opposite situation applies for high pressure areas. The air movement from areas of high pressure to areas of lower pressure is what we call wind.

Why is it difficult for persons to survive on planet mercury?
aliya0001 [1]
Mercury is a barren planet with little atmosphere. In many regards it is similar to our own moon. However, it is also very close to the Sun, so humans will have to set up bases in craters or near the Poles to avoid being blinded.

WILL MARK BRAINLIEST
egoroff_w [7]
Fossils provide solid evidence that organisms from the past are not the same as those found today; fossils show a progression of evolution. Fossils, along with the comparative anatomy of present-day organisms, constitute the morphological, or anatomical, record. By comparing the anatomies of both modern and extinct species, paleontologists can infer the lineages of those species. This approach is most successful for organisms that had hard body parts, such as shells, bones or teeth. The resulting fossil record tells the story of the past and shows the evolution of form over millions of years.
