Blood pressure

This is indicated in Starling's Hypothesis in which there is fluid movement due to filtration across the wall of capillary. This is dependent between hydrostatic pressure gradient and oncotic pressure across the capillary. The balance of these forces allow the net driving pressure for filtration. The net fluid influc is proportional to this net driving pressure. The leakage of proteins across the capillary membrane has important effects and has corresponding cause in the balance of forces.

What kinds of traits are produced by most mutations?
krek1111 [17]
Harmful traits are produced by most mutations. Sometimes the mutation can create nonsense codons that do not produce any amino acid and signals the cell to end the process. So, this causes the cell to do different things than what it was meant to. Most mutations are destructive and cells have a method of examining if they have mutated or not. Its only when the checking fails that the cell becomes mutated.

Compare and contrast the cells found in a plant's roots, stems, and leaves.
olya-2409 [2.1K]
The leaf cells are brick shaped and contain chloroplasts to make food for the plant through photosynthesis, root cells are long tubular to transport food, water and wastes from the leaves of the plants while the stem cells are smaller and thicker to provide strength and support to the whole plant. All these cells are part of plants which are necessary for the survival of the plant, and all work together to perform the plants life activities.

Which is part of the theory of evolution by natural selection?
N76 [4]

Answer:

O C. Small changes add up over many generations.

Explanation:

Evolution by natural selection states that small changes (different allele frequencies) that confer upon an individual a reproductive advantage will eventually cause the population to evolve into something different. The accumulation of all these little changes as alleles become more frequent will eventually cause evolution.

Why not A: Not all animals need to reproduce. This is the opposite of what's true: only some animals live long enough to reproduce and increase the frequency of their alleles in the population.

Why not B: They have to be passed down. Remember, these adaptations are not acquired, like Lamarck thought, but rather inherent in genetics, as Darwin thought.

Why not D: This is just plain wrong.

In what location would primary succession most likely occur? An area that was covered by a glacier An area that was in a long dr
Virty [35]
An area that was covered by a glacier

Primary succession is a method of bringing about fertility in infertile land that can not be cultivated. This method usually involves plant species known as "pioneer species", that do not rely heavily on soil nutrients but add nutrients to the soil. The land under the glacier is likely to be void of nutrients and infertile, so primary succession will be needed there the most.
