Four soft tacos and two burritos for $10 is represented by 4s + 2b = $10.

Three soft tacos and three burritos for $11.25 3s + 3 b = $11.25

... where s and b are the unit costs of the tacos and burritos respectively.

Solve this system of linear equations for s and b:

Mult the first equation by 3: 12s + 6b = $30

Mult the 2nd eqn by -4: -12s -12b = -$45

Combine these equations: -----------------------------

-6b = - $15

Solve for b b = $15/6, or $2.50 per burrito

Subst. this $2.50 into 4s + 2b = $10 to find s:

4s + 2($2.50) = $10, or 4s + $5 = $10. Then s = $5/4 = $1.25 per soft taco.

Soft tacos are going to be $1.25, and burritos are going to be $2.50

An oil exploration company currently has two active projects, one in Asia and the other in Europe. Let A be the event that the A
Virty [35]

Answer:

a)

0.5

option A

b)

0.6

c)

0.1

Step-by-step explanation:

The event A and B are independent so

P(A∩B)=P(A)*P(B)

P(A∩B)=P(0.2)*P(0.5)=0.10

a)

We have to find P(B'|A')

P(B'|A')=P(B'∩A')/P(A')

P(A)=0.2

P(A')=Asian project is not successful=1-P(A)=1-0.2=0.8

P(B)=0.5

P(B')=Europe project is not successful=1-P(B)=1-0.5=0.5

P(B'∩A')=Europe and Asia both project are not successful=P(A')*P(B')=0.8*0.5=0.4

P(B'|A')=P(B'∩A')/P(A')=0.4/0.8=0.5

This can be done by another independence property for conditional probability

P(B|A)=P(B)

P(B'|A')=P(B')

P(B'|A')=0.5

b)

Probability of at least one of two projects will be successful means that the probability of success of Asia project or probability of success of Europe project or probability of success of Europe and Asian project which is P(AUB).

P(AUB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A∩B)

P(AUB)=0.2+0.5-0.1

P(AUB)=0.6

c)

Probability of only Asian project is successful given that at least one of the two projects is successful means that probability of success of project Asia while the project Europe is not successful denoted as P((A∩B')/(A∪B))=?

P((A∩B')/(A∪B))=P((A∩B')∩(A∪B))/P(A∪B)

P((A∩B')∩(A∪B))=P(A∩B')*P(A∪B)

P(A∩B')=P(A)*P(B')=0.2*0.5=0.10

P((A∩B')∩(A∪B))=0.1*0.6=0.06

P((A∩B')/(A∪B))=0.06/0.6=0.1

Can someone please tell me how to solve this, I cant really understand
USPshnik [31]
She only needs 3 sides take half for the side opposite the river, and divide the remaining part in to two for the other two sides, now we can do the work, but if you have to do more than one of these, a rectangle where one side is free (against a river, a side of a barn, whatever) half is for opposite side, the rest split in two gives other two sides if we put say y as the side opposite the river, and x as the adjacent sides, then you are told that x+x+y=600 i.e. 2x+y=600 the area is A=xy and you want it to be as large as possible solve for y and get y=600−2x then A(x)=x(600−2x)=600x−2x2 and base on that the answer would be 45000
