The first genetic map was constructed by Alfred Sturtevant. In 1913, he was the first constructing a genetic map of chromosome. He worked on the biological model <span>drosophila melanogaster next to Thomas Morgan, another geneticist.</span>

Sturtevant is an American geneticist, he constructed the first genetic map in 1913 using the drosophila chromosomes. 
Genetic map is the graphical representation of the arrangement of genes on a chromosome. Genetic map is used to locate gene or group of genes that determine particular traits.<span />
