The input in this case it x. So basically the resulting function would be:
f(x) = -1/2 x +3

So then just plug in each x input in the table, and plot the points on the x-y coordinate plane:

x     y
-4   5
-2   4
0    3
2    2
4    1

Basically, the inputs are the x values on the table. Plug those into the function. "Multiply the input by -1/2, then add 3" translates to -1/2(x) + 3.

If you would like me to actually put the answers down, then I'll put them in the comments after you request them.

Describe the steps you can use to find an average of fractional amounts.
oksano4ka [1.4K]
Add up the fractional amounts and divide them by however many amounts there are..........

eg.

Step 1:Add the fractions
1/6 + 5/8 +3/4
(find the LCD)
1/6 + 5/8 + 3/4 = 4/24 + 15/24 + 18/24 = 37/24

Step 2: Divide the sum by the number of numbers in the set
37/24 ÷ 3= 37/24 ÷ 3/1= 37/24 X 1/3= 37/72

<span>So the mean (average) is 37/72</span>

Whats the common difference?
Stells [14]

Answer:  The common difference is  8

Step-by-step explanation:

First Use the formula for the second to generate the first two numbers.

u_{n} = 2^3n-2

Put in 1 for the first term and you will get 2 and the second term is 16 and to get from 2 to 16 you will multiply by 8.

What is the 9th term of the following geometric sequence? 7/9,-7/3,7,-21,63 ??????
dmitriy555 [2]

Given:

The geometric sequence is:

\dfrac{7}{9},\dfrac{-7}{3},7,-21,63,...

To find:

The 9th term of the given geometric sequence.

Solution:

We have,

\dfrac{7}{9},\dfrac{-7}{3},7,-21,63,...

Here, the first term is:

a=\dfrac{7}{9}

The common ratio is:

r=\dfrac{a_2}{a_1}

r=\dfrac{\dfrac{-7}{3}}{\dfrac{7}{9}}

r=\dfrac{-7}{3}\times \dfrac{9}{7}

r=-3

The nth term of a geometric sequence is:

a_n=ar^{n-1}

Where, a is the first term and r is the common ratio.

Substitute a=\dfrac{7}{9},r=-3,n=9 to find the 9th term.

a_9=\dfrac{7}{9}(-3)^{9-1}

a_9=\dfrac{7}{9}(-3)^{8}

a_9=\dfrac{7}{9}(6561)

a_9=5103

Therefore, the 9th term of the given geometric sequence is 5103.
