Chemistry

Answer:

The correct answer is 3. The molecular collisions are perfectly elastic.

Explanation:

The kinetic theory of gases explains the characteristics and properties of matter in general, and establishes that heat and movement are related. This theory tells us that a gas is composed of a large number of small particles (molecules) of negligible size compared to the distances between them. The theory also indicates that the molecules of a gas are kept in continuous motion in a rectilinear, fast and random (random) way in all directions, colliding with each other and with the walls of the container that contains it in elastic shocks (that is, there is no force of attraction or repulsion between the molecules, nor between them and the container, different from those of the shock). Finally, each molecule has its own kinetic energy (velocity) that is not necessarily equal to the rest of the molecules. But the average kinetic energy of all particles is proportional to the absolute temperature of the gas. Temperature is a consequence of molecular movement.

Taking into account everything mentioned above, it is possible to say that the correct answer is 3. The molecular collisions are perfectly elastic.

if you were trying to heat soup would you want to use a good thermal conductor or good thermal insulator? explain your answer
denis23 [38]
I would want to use a thermal conductor because then I can actually heat up the soup but however if I used a thermal insulator it would just keep the soup warm but this would be no help if she was already cold

How many moles are 2.54×10^29 molecules of H20?
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

421,787 moles.

Explanation:

No. of Molecules of H20=2.54×10²⁹

1 mole=6.022×10²³=Avagadro No.

No. of moles=Given no. of moles/Avagadro No.

=(2.54×10²⁹)/(6.022×10²³)=421,786.782=421,787(approx)

Why does C-14 decay but not N-14?
Effectus [21]

Beta decay occurs when a neutron transforms into a proton, an electron(and an electron anti-neutrino) Even though there are less electrostatically-repelling protons in C 14 than in N 14 the extra neutrons make the nucleus less stable than that of N 14
