When two excitatory postsynaptic potentials (EPSPs) occur at a single synapse so rapidly in succession that the postsynaptic neu

ron's membrane potential has not returned to the resting potential before the second EPSP arrives, the EPSPs add together producing _____.

Answer:

B) temporal summation

Explanation:

When two EPSPs occur at the same synapse, the process called temporal summation occurs.

Temporal summation is the process of combining the postsynaptic potentials of different neurons as they are added in sequence.

When occurring in rapid succession, the final potential becomes a cohesive sum of the postsynaptic potentials. Therefore, temporal summation can be defined as the sum that creates postsynaptic potentials at different times.

Which two natural resources will be most affected as people try to meet the growing demand for food?
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

water and land

Explanation:

I assume this is an open-ended question, so you could make an argument for lots of things, but these are the two most important ones in my opinion. The amount of freshwater on Earth is pretty small, only about 2.5%, and most of that is locked in ice. As the demand for food grows, the demand for water for crops and livestock also grows. This is in addition to the increase in water that is needed for a growing population. Climate change increases this problem because of drought. The second most important resource that will be affected is land. If we need more food, we also need space to grow crops and raise livestock. The available space is also reduced because people need places to live and we need to be able to grow trees for wood to build houses and other buildings. I argue that land and water will be the most in-demand commodities as the population continues to increase.

What do you mean by sex
ValentinkaMS [17]
In general terms, “sex” refers to the biological differences between males and females, such as the genitalia and genetic differences. “Gender” is more difficult to define, but it can refer to the role of a male or female in society, known as a gender role, or an individual's concept of themselves, or gender identity.

How do the number of chromosomes in cells that go through meiosis and mitosis compare?
34kurt

Answer: Option A is correct.

Cells that go through meiosis have half as many chromosomes as cell that go through mitosis. Meiosis is that's why called REDUCTION DIVISION.

Explanation:

In meiosis, the number of chromosomes becomes half or reduced than the normal while, in mitosis the number of chromosomes remains the same.

If a cell at metaphase of mitosis contains 20 sister chromatids, how many chromosomes will be present in a g1 cell
Alika [10]
The correct answer is 10 chromosome. Mitosis is the type of cell division that takes place in the somatic cells or the body cells where the parent cells divides into two daughter cells with the same genetic composition as the parent. Therefore, the number of chromosomes in the daughter cells remains the same as that of the mother cells. The opposite is the meiosis, which involves division of a germ line cells into four daughter cells which contains half the number of chromosomes as the parent.
