Simplify the expression (8x^3y^2/4a^2b^4)^-2
icang [17]
Simplify the following:
((8 x^3 y^2 a^2 b^4)/4)^(-2)
8/4 = (4×2)/4 = 2:
(2 x^3 y^2 a^2 b^4)^(-2)
Multiply each exponent in 2 x^3 y^2 a^2 b^4 by -2:
(x^(-2×3) y^(-2×2) a^(-2×2) b^(-2×4))/(2^2)
-2×3 = -6:
(x^(-6) y^(-2×2) a^(-2×2) b^(-2×4))/2^2
-2×2 = -4:
(y^(-4) a^(-2×2) b^(-2×4))/(2^2 x^6)
-2×2 = -4:
(a^(-4) b^(-2×4))/(2^2 x^6 y^4)
-2×4 = -8:
b^(-8)/(2^2 x^6 y^4 a^4)
2^2 = 4:
Answer: 1/(4 x^6 y^4 a^4 b^8) thus the answer is A

5 hockey pucks and three hockey sticks cost $23. 5 hockey pucks and 1 hockey stick cost $20. How much does 1 hockey puck cost?
Andrews [41]

Let P be the cost of pucks, S the cost of sticks.

1.5p+3s=23

2.5p+s=20

subtract eqn 2 from 1,we get

5p+3s-5p-s=23-20

2s=3

s=3/2=1.50

Then from eqn 2,

5p+3/2=20

5p=40/2-3/2

p=37/10=3.70

Therefore,pucks cost $3.70 and sticks cost $1.50

jason is using a 1/3 gallon pitcher to fill an empty 3/4 gallon water jug. how much water will he need to completely fill the wa
Murljashka [212]
Jason will need to use 9 more 1/3 gallon-ful pitchers to fill the rest of the empty 3/4 gallon water jug. You convert the two fractions so they have the same denominator (1/12 and 3/12). Then you add the remaining amount of 1/12's to complete 12/12, or 1.

.Write the equation of the line with m = 3 going through the point (–2, –5). Put your answer in Slope–Intercept Form.
OverLord2011 [107]

Answer:

y = 3x +1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

m = 3

(x_1,y_1) =  (-2,-5)

Required

The equation

This is calculated as:

y = m(x - x_1)  + y_1

So, we have:

y = 3(x - -2)  -5

y = 3(x +2)  -5

Open bracket

y = 3x +6  -5

y = 3x +1
